Getting serious...

After getting results back for certain tests our path to having a kid has changed.

I've done tons of research on what our options are but unfortunately they all include waiting longer. I have an annual checkup this month on the 27th where I'll have the chance to discuss things with a different doctor to the other's I have seen. Lets just hope this doc has better patient skills and can give us some advice.

After this cycle finishes, our plans in the New Year are to repeat the test mentioned above after some factors have been changed (and then again in the following months). I'll also take a Clomid break to let my body be hormone free for at least one month, possibly two. During the break I hope to get an HSG done to check my tubes are clear. Luckily the HSG is cheaper that I expected, roughly $100.

If tests come back normal then we'll continue as we are with the Clomid and accept its just gonna take time... if results are bad then our options are IUI if my tubes are OK or IVF if the tubes are blocked. I've found a doctor who can perform the IUI if necessary for what we are estimating at $2000 to include injections, sperm washing, the procedure, ultrasounds and bloodwork. The IVF procedure is roughly $16000 so that would definately be difficult to pay for without any insurance help.

I feel better getting the research for our options and having a plan written out. The waiting is the hardest part.
