Coming home

(Better late than never, and with twins I will always be late!)

Homecoming Day! We arrived at the hospital for their 11am feeding and to bring them home. David failed the car seat test so he has to ride in a car bed for awhile. Rachel passed, which is good because I’m not sure we could fit 2 car beds into the SUV. There were a lot of things to bring home for just two tiny little babies.

Shari, one of our favorite nurses, was in charge of David & Rachel today and she discharged us and helped us get everything together. It was a really nice day. We also saw Dr. Goins in the hallway who was happy for us and said Congratulations. We had a quick drive thru at McDonalds on the way home as we were starving by then. And that put us at getting home at 2pm, just in time for their feeding… and they sure were hungry.

We are working through a routine and feeling pretty confident now. Of course there is still the night feedings to get through. Both have done really well since being home. David has a preference to being held after feedings, I think he’ll be a cuddle bug. I’m a happy mommy. The dogs have tolerated the babies well so far. Sophie gave a cute head twist when she first heard David. They have both had their heads licked/sniffed too. Granny, Grandpa & Cousin Ethan came by for a visit. It was Ethan’s 8th birthday and he was thrilled to hold them both for the first time. Grandpa was very happy to hold them too for the first time. Its been an awesome day.
