We went to Oak Island, NC with Grandma & Grandpa for a few days. The drive down took a couple extra hours but it was expected (6.5 hours instead of 4). They did pretty well considering it was a long ride. There were a few diaper blow-outs to keep the journey interesting.
We spent some time out on the beach under a sun umbrella that was great for the job. We dipped their toes into the water and Rachel enjoyed it! David, however, did not and cried at both attempts. They looked awesome in their beach outfits and sunglasses. They happily napped and ate while laying on a beach towel for the few hours we spent outside. Once it got too hot we’d go back to the apartment for a bath, feeding, and play time with the Grandparents. During the trip David really started cooing during the trip and has found his voice. Overall it was a lot of work for mommy but well worth it. I could still use another vacation!

I loved reading your updates - SO glad to hear things are going well! Sorry about the scary-ness with the surgery on Rachel! Glad that's all over with. Think of you all often.
